PL PTA offers many opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year! Below is a description of our various activities, followed by a committee sign-up form. Please note, certain requirements must be met prior to volunteering.
Arts In Education – Students prepare works for judging in accordance with the PTA Reflections Program. PTA prepares the entries for judging and presents awards.
Book Fair -The Scholastic Book Fairs connect students with books they want to read. PTA assists with shopping.
Family Fun Night – This committee plans and prepares family activities, snacks and entertainment for the event.
Fundraiser – Volunteers assist with sorting and distributing merchandise. They also plan the Fundraiser Party.
Holiday Workshop – The Holiday Workshop is held in November during the school day. Volunteers help students shop and wrap gifts.
Math Matters – Volunteers assist with planning fun math activities for students during one evening to encourage the importance of math.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) – RIF is held three times a year. Volunteers create lessons and activities for students to participate in during the free book distribution.
Room Parent – Room Parents plan and organize classroom parties, including helping with games and crafts. PTA will reimburse up to $25 per room per party. Sixth grade room parents will organize the Yellow Creek Trip.
School Spirit Day – Volunteers help with the student assembly during homecoming and distribute spirit items.
School Store – This committee provides affordable and educational items to students during lunch.
Science Fair – Volunteers assist with preparation of exhibits and activities for students.
Staff Appreciation – Members organize an annual luncheon and various other activities.
Variety Show – This committee plans the event and organizes participants.
Yearbook – Members take pictures at events throughout the year and assist with creating the yearbook.
